A thank you + a sweet Minnetonka giveaway

Checkered shirt and pants: J. Crew, Blue shirt: Banana Republic, Shoes: c/o Minnetonka Moccasins

You guys! Can I just say a humongous thank you for your response to yesterday's post

It's funny, because it took me like an hour and half to crank out those three little paragraphs... that's how uninspired and verbally constipated I've been feeling lately, when it comes to blogging. And I had a very "meh" attitude about what the response would be. I thought there would be a few nice comments and maybe a lot of radio silence from all those who would be thinking to themselves, "yeah, time to retire the blog now, Jenni, you kind of do suck." I really didn't count on such thoughtful and insightful comments from so many of you, and they really lifted my spirits and reminded me exactly why I fell in love with blogging in the first place. So thank you. That really, really means a lot to me. I can't promise this blog won't be marginally sucky in November, since my ass is literally glued to my chair editing photos and generally running a business all week, but I do feel a lot more motivated going forward, to bring this blog back to something that I'm really proud of.

Switching gears here, one thing I can say I AM proud of is that the advertisers I have on board this month are really top notch and I am so happy to be working with them. Today concludes my three styled Minnetonka moccasins, and with that conclusion comes a giveaway of one of the three said pairs, to one happy reader! Scroll down for your chance to win. :) Happy Tuesday, and again, thank you, thank you, thank you.

  1. Okay I know I haven't commented much lately but I just wanted to let you know how impressed I am with how genuine you've been! Your style revolution (which by the way your outfit in this post is so adorable and perfect) to your blog, I think being genuine is so important and that's what keeps readers coming back even if sometimes a blogger goes through a "sucky phase". I would so much rather see genuine but sucky content then cranked out mediocre (better but not real) posts any day! Your photography is beautiful by the way so I can understand why you're so busy! I always love it when you post some of your favorites on your blog!

  10. My awesome mother in law (who is a painter) told me one time that the seasons where we feel unmotivated or uninspired are part of the process for an artist/writer/generally creative spirit. She mentioned this after I lamented going TWO MONTHS without writing anything. Obviously, if it's a business there's the aspect of needing some kind of consistency, but it still encouraged me to hear that things "drying up," so to speak, are kind of normal. I think there's seasons where the creative tank gets a little depleted and I have to live life a little while before it's filled up again. p.s. those moccasins are *super cute*. Their kids collection is ridiculously adorable, as well.

  13. Minnetonkas are the BEST. I have a pair of knee-high boots that criss-cross lace up to a fringe layer at the top...they're the most comfortable things in the world. I swear I feel like I'm moon walking or dancing on sponges or something every time I put them on. The warmest, most comfortable, Pocahontas-esque footwear!

  20. If I lived near her I would totally want her as my photographer!

  21. Absolutely. I think all creative types go through it. It's especially annoying when you're a blogger and people are waiting for your next move, so to speak. I don't do well under pressure... haha!

On a side note, your little man would look amazing in baby mocs ;)

  27. Thank you for persevering. There really is nothing to complain about or to stress over when you choose to look at what you DO have. You may not have the solution to this blog right now, but you have a thriving business, a husband that loves you, and so much that you've gained from the blog world. I can tell this just by discovering you blog merely yesterday!! So you keep going. Keep running until something FORCES you to stop :) There's no reason to do so up until that point.
