Let’s talk hair again.

IMG_6439-1 oh yes, I just put that on the internet.

And what, pray tell, caused such a transformation? My Hana Elite flat iron, of course (pictured below). Yep, this is a review, but I’ll make it quick. This flat iron rocks my face off. As you can maybe tell from the “before” picture, I have some hair. And by “some hair,” I mean masses of coarse, wavy/curly, and extremely puffy hair. The first picture is how my hair looks immediately after blow drying… so yeah, flat irons have always been my friends. I used to profess my undying love for my Chi, but now I profess my undying love for my Hana Elite. You know, in life, sometimes relationships just grow apart. Chi, it was nice knowing you…

No but seriously, while both are excellent irons, the Hana is less bulky and has temperature settings, whereas Chi does not.  Also, it comes with 5 million other little awesome things in the massive swag box you get, just for ordering. (it came with a hair brush, a blush brush, lip gloss, an eyelash curler, hand sanitizer, nail files, a sleep mask, a case for the flat iron, and a rubber pad for the flat iron…. holla???!)

Thanks so much to Misikko and Hana Salon for allowing me to try out their fabulous products. And if you’re in the market for a new blow dryer, check out this review I wrote a while back. Happy Thursday!

  3. I saw the title of this post and I almost couldn't look cause I was afraid I would die of jealousy and rage.

    And yep, I'm dead.

You have the most amazing hair.

  4. It's too bad we couldn't merge our hair together --- I could use a bit more ;)

  5. How long, on average, does it take to style your hair - from wet to dry?

I am looking for the quickest possible way - I am the laziest person alive and always on the hunt for new tips:)

  9. We have super similar hair!!! I don't know how I ever survived w/o a flatiron... I think I'm in need of a new one so I may have to check this one out!

  11. I'm super glad you posted that first pic - I have to admit that I thought you rolled out of bed with a perfect mane, which left me seriously lamenting my crazy frizzy one. Thanks for the dose of reality :)

  12. Wow, What transformation! I love it! When I am in the market for a new straightener. I will definitely get one of those.

  13. But what I forgot to say, was that you still have super, phenomenal, envy-enducing hair, pre or post flat iron. For real.

  17. Ahhhh we have the same hair!! Course, thick, LONG! The whole shebang. Except mine is so damaged from this hard German water. I go through bottles of Moroccan Oil like it's going out of style just to tame my mane. Which reminds me...I need a haircut something fierce. And, you're just too pretty. Stop it.

  18. Jenni, I NEED that! Your before picture looks just like my natural hair! Eeek! And holy swag box! I can't believe all those goodies came with the iron. WOW. I'm impressed.

However, I'm jealous of you, because you can throw your hair up in a messy bun on top of your head and look gorgeous. I'm still trying to figure out how to replicate that. How do you keep your hair up? I always feel like I'm using way too much stuff (bobby pins, hair tie) and it still doesn't work. UGH. Alas, leaving my straightened hair down with sunglasses as a headband wins again.

  19. i just want your hair, ok? maybe your hubby can scalp you for me- he's a hunter, yes?

too much? with the scalping? i figured it would be win-win.. i get lovely hair, you no longer have to deal with it...?

    and now i'm off... chalking this up to the most obscene comment i've likely left you (;

  23. I love my Misikko hair dryer!! I bought it after reading your review...and a TON of other great ones online. The box of goodies was just as good. I got some Paul Mitchell shampoo and conditioner that I loved...but I'm way to cheap to buy them again haha. I live by my Chi but I might have to check this one out since I was so blown away by my Misikko!

  24. Okay, I have to know how long it took you to flat iron your hair! You are precious no matter what! ;)

  29. OH this is a familiar picture, my hair too is thick, frizzy, wavy and generally a mess. Irons are a necessity in my everyday life for me to even stand a chance of emerging from my bedroom. Thank god shorter hair though because in 40 degrees, the last thing you want to do is spend all day drying and ironing hair! :)

  30. I may just have to try this :) :)

  31. Holy beautiful I didn't realize your hair was so long!! Any secrets for your length? Can you send some of it my way?!?

    ReplyDelete
  32. Omg your hair is so long and beautiful! So jealous. I've been hearing amazing things about the straightener but YIKES it's expensive :/

    ReplyDelete
  33. I would never have guessed your hair would be that thick from the other pictures you've posted. This iron definitely changes your look!

    ReplyDelete
  34. So, I think that flat iron works! What product did you add to your hair?

    ReplyDelete
  35. You have such pretty hair! Mine is thick and course too. The only thing I can do with it is straighten it or put it in a ponytail.

    ReplyDelete
  36. I just reviewed this flat iron too and fell IN LOVE. With the Houston humidity, it did NOT disappoint one bit! Also-i love that it's so light weight...perfect for traveling! (I'm always the 51 pound bag at the airport so I need all the help I can get lol)

  37. If you could just maybe trim out some middle pieces of all that hair and share it with this girl, who has all of three or four strands, that would be polite.

    Thanks. Love, Me.

  38. If I'm ever in the market for a new straightener, I'll definitely be checking them out! The swag box doesn't hurt...

    ReplyDelete
  39. You look adorable on both pictures! Jungle style on the first one and more working-girl on the second one ;)

    ReplyDelete
  40. Holy whoa girl, you do have some hair! And gorgeous it is! I know grass is always greener, but I have fine, straight locks, which means I have serious big hair envy. I don't really need a straightening iron, but with all that swag, it's tempting... ;)

  41. Ok my hair is exactly like yours! Maybe bigger! I use a Chi iron & have for years but definitely want to try this flat iron out. I am very curious as to which hair products that you use before, during & after flat ironing?? Do you have layers in your hair?? It is gorgeous!!

  42. LOVE that you put these pics up - and I love the wild mane! I tame mine with a good old GHD - my trusty favourite!!
