(Ok, what am I saying here? I love that. Thunderstorm cuddles are the best.)
Point is, this week we’ve had some really excellent stormy days and nights, though they always leave me yearning for more. I think I’d be right at home in a place like Seattle. Rain, to me, always feels like release.
Plus I get to wear my red wellies. Winning all around.
Dress and clutch: c/o Kiki La’Rue, rainboots: Hunter (red here, more colors here), Necklace: Sora Designs, Bracelet: Madewell
I know. I am clear. (the stage that comes right after white.) Also, that adorable dress I’m wearing above came courtesy of a new online shop called Kiki La’Rue, which is definitely worth checking out! They have a great variety of adorable and affordable dress options (like this one and this one and this one!), as well as super cute tops and handbags. I love to support smaller shops that are dedicated to quality and customer service, as this one clearly is. This dress is comfy and looks super cute paired with bright pops of color in a necklace or, in this case, red rain boots. :)Be sure and check out Kiki La’Rue before spending more money on the same products at a department store!
Have a great Thursday…

I love a good thunderstorm. We get crazy storms here in Gabon - like I've never seen before. Always enjoyable unless you get stuck driving in them when the roads flood and water goes over your hood!
ReplyDeletePS. I love the red Hunters!
Thunderstorms are the best. Despite all the rain we get here in Washington, it never really 'storms' .. just drizzles ... a LOT.
ReplyDeleteI love your dress + clutch.
Adorable outfit! Those boots are to die for! I live in Oklahoma, so having a week of rain is like winning the lottery - especially after last summer! xoxo
ReplyDeleteI was just saying yesterday how May had more showers than April, weird!
ReplyDeleteBut I don't mind it either, it's good for an afternoon nap and night sleep :D
Loving your dress!!
Super Cute outfit! Sometimes Rainboots just ruin an outfit but yours make it!
ReplyDeleteLove!!! I love when it rains JUST so I can wear my Hunters :)
ReplyDeleteOh yes, I love a good stormy day too...well, to be perfectly honest, I DID. Before I cut shorter bangs a few weeks ago. And 12 out of 14 days have been rainy since then. So I look like I have a constant halo of untamable frizz around my face now. It's pretty hot. But as soon as my bangs grow long enough again to put behind my ear, I'll be back to loving the rainy days! I'm deep like that.
ReplyDeleteCome to Florida-- we have lots of thunderstorms this time of year (practically daily!!)
ReplyDeleteI adore that outfit - the dress, the clutch, the boots--it's amazing!

I love your outfit!
ReplyDeleteI totally agree. the rain has been amazing these past few days! It was fun, I talked to my sister in Austin & she said it was pouring and by the time we were off the phone, it was pouring here & done there :)
ReplyDeletevery cute dress!
It has been raining for weeks on end here, or so it seems. I told my friends that nature just wanted to make sure I was prepared for my move to Seattle next month. It's working.
ReplyDeleteLove your outfit! You look so cute!
ReplyDeleteI love storms too but the Seattle rain DEFINITELY gets old. We are just coming into our 4 months of sunshine so hopefully we have a great, sunny summer. Your outfit is so cute by the way!
ReplyDeleteI have the same red wellies and get just as excited about rainy weather. Ever since I bought mine 2 years ago, it just doesn't seem to have rained enough. :)
ReplyDeleteI really love this look! You look amazing!
ReplyDeleteso gorgeous as always :) love the bright books and the belt on that dress.
ReplyDeleteas for storms - as long as i'm not required to do anything but bake chocolate chip cookies, curl up by the fire with a good book, and dance in the rain - then i love them :)
Super cute dress and it looks awesome with your red rain boots! :)
ReplyDeleteseriously, every.single.time i see you rock your red Hunters, i feel like i must add another one to my closet. it is ok to have every color? right? :)
ReplyDeletelove the outfit too! gorgeous lady you are!
love the outfit!!
ReplyDeleteI l-o-v-e stormy weather. It's my favorite!!! I will even mute the TV so I can hear the rumble rumble of thunder. Surprisingly, our pets sleep through the storm!
ReplyDeleteYou look so pretty and I swear, those boots DO go with the outfit. ;)
P.S. I am ghostly pale. I LOVE IT!
I love thunderstorms. Unfortunately we don't have them very often in San Diego, and they aren't as cool as the ones in Austin. I love that dress and hunter boots. You look amazing. :)
ReplyDeleteI just moved to San Antonio from Seattle and let me tell you that Seattle has nothing on the type of thunderstorms you have here! I can't believe how loud the thunder gets sometimes :-/. Funny thing is I almost bought a pair of wellies just before we moved here but Husband insisted I would never need them in Texas. I'd say he was wrong and based on how cute they look on you I think that I should reconsider! :)
ReplyDeleteI laughed about your dog - I have a 70 pound boxer who does the exact same thing. (And thunderstorm cuddles are so freakin cute). Love your blog!
ReplyDeleteThe Blue Hour
Jenni, steer clear of Seattle! The rain is too constant to enjoy! Lol..I haven't been here a year yet, maybe I'll get use to it eventually, but I'm missing the sunny days in VA badly!!
ReplyDeleteLove, love, love your dress!
Thunderstorms are amazing- it's the #1 thing my husband and I have consistently missed since leaving the SE. In GA we used to have clock-work 5 PM thunderstorms the whole month of August- afterwards, the lightning bugs come out and so do the people, with sweet tea and lemonade... *sigh* Enjoy the storms, I'm a bit jealous if you can't tell!!
ReplyDeleteWe had a great storm out here in Queen Creek, AZ yesterday. Now that I am moving to Germany, I think I simply must get a pair of rain boots! :)
ReplyDeletelove that red rain boot,,
ReplyDeletei love the rain, the thunder and the weather before it's going to rain. especially when the grey clouds covering our head and the wind blows hard. love them!
I do love your Kiki La'Rue dress!
ReplyDeleteso, i have a friend who is very white. i mean, very. recently, she was laughing at how glaring her legs had become.
ReplyDeletei told her, "embrace it...you are milky white and it's beautiful."
at the time, another friend overheard our conversation. "what is milky white?" she asked. dumbfounded at the term. "oh," i responded, "leah's skin."
"as it should be," the eavesdropper replied. she stopped in her tracks and said, "that is the most racist thing i've ever said!!"
she was horrified.
As an Oregonian, I too love the rain. But believe me... you wouldn't like living in Seattle. Or Oregon. We don't really have "storms". We have dreary days with showers. They ruin your hair and make you feel gloomy after the first month or so. After 8 months of grey skies, you feel like you would do ANYTHING to get some stinkin' sunshine.
ReplyDelete"i am clear", hahaha.
ReplyDeletei love the rain, too. especially when i can cozy up inside all day and read. or sleeping during a rainstorm!! the best.
That clutch is amazing!! Love the entire ensemble lady-you make rain look lovely! ;) Will definitely go check out Kiki La’Rue!

Thunderstorms are so exciting. They have been calling for rain here for the past week and it's just been cloud covered.. I WANT RAIN!
ReplyDeleteYou look sooo fabulous
I love stormy weather too. Puts me at peace when all you hear is the rain hitting the windows.
ReplyDeleteOne of the reasons I moved to Seattle was because of all the rain. I've loved it ever since I was a little girl. People kept saying, "You'll get sick of all that rain." And you know what? Five years there and not once did I complain.
ReplyDeletelove love love your red Hunter rainboots!! Every time I think about buying a pink pair, I think, "ehh... it's almost summer... there's not much rain left" and then BOOM!! Rain rain rain :/ I can live vicariously through you for now and drool over those ;)
ReplyDeleteaww Jenni...pretty and effortless as always. Looks like things are looking up :)
ReplyDeletelove your outfit, especially those red wellies! now that i'm home in vancouver, i'm looking forward to lots and lots of rainstorms :)
ReplyDeleteLove days like this...I have had my windows open all day enjoying the sound and smell of the rain. You look flawless. Thanks for sharing the site. Going to check it out now. It was so nice meeting you last night. Let's do it again soon.
ReplyDeletexo,
Shanna
Such a cute outfit!!
ReplyDeletehello there from Seattle! We lived in TX for about a year and a half before coming back to Seattle. Want to know what we miss most from our days in TX? The sun, the warmth!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the rain!
You look good in clear. I am transparent, which is almost the same as clear. I've been refraining from tanning too this year -- probably the first summer since I was 18 that I haven't tanned. I feel self-concious about it but I try to ignore it. lol
ReplyDeleteYou look beautiful. Those red boots add a lot of 'flavor' to your outfit. Love that! And thunderstorms can be pretty perfect especially in those hot tx days.
ReplyDeleteGirllll you are too cayoot! Love love love :)
ReplyDeleteyour dress is too cute!
ReplyDeleteI am also a lover of thunderstorms and rain (as long as the bottoms of my pants don't get wet and stick to me, then I get aggravated)
ReplyDeleteI love the dress! I am heading over to the shop right now to check everything out. I'm not purchasing clothes right now as I am on a weight loss journey but I certainly can bookmark a few of my favorites for when I get to my ideal weight!
I'm sitting here listening to the thunder roll in now. I think you'd love Seattle... to them, people like us are tan :)
ReplyDeleteIt really does feel like a release, and there is such a newly cleansed feeling that follows such a violent storm.
I had so much fun seeing you last night. I've missed you friend! Also, I have to finish this comment because my 60lb dog just climbed into my lap.

LOVE the entire outfit. Definitely will be checking out that site :) And I agree, sometimes rain is like a much needed refresher. I'm in the Dallas area, so we don't get too much here either. But when we do, and it's on a day I can lay in bed and take it all in? Perfection.
ReplyDeleteI'm the complete opposite! I HAAAATTTEEE thunderstorms - the thunder always spooks me (but secretly, I like the pretty lightening). I got lucky because my dogs don't mind the thunderstorms, although a cuddle fest would be fun ;)
ReplyDeleteWe've had so much rain here that I'm considering selling my car and learning how to sail :-)
ReplyDeleteI love the red wellies - one of my favourite colours and definitely the best way to brighten up an otherwise dreary day. Sadly I noticed this morning that my faithful old boots have sprung leaks... of course, I found this out by stepping into the middle of a giant puddle. Oh well, at least I have an excuse to go get another pair now!
Oh how adorable! I'm actually about to order a super cute romper from them, but not sure which size to get. Did your dress run true to size or does it run a bit small? Thanks, love it!!
ReplyDeleteI seriously love that dress and the rain boots!
ReplyDeleteLOVE this rainy day look! The wellies look darling with your sweet dress.

I wish you didn't feel the need to use self-deprecating humor about the lack of "tan." Tanning is dangerous. Just be proud you won't have as many wrinkles as the other sun-worshipers (not to mention the risk of cancer!). You are beautiful just the way you are!
ReplyDeletegosh girl your outfits are just so cute everytime! i need style advice haha xoxo
ReplyDeleteI do love storm and thunder and even rain. Specially summer rain.
ReplyDeleteYou look lovely, as always :)
Come to Seattle although its so bright and sunny today like it has never been! But don't forget your rain boots, you never know when you will need them here! :)
ReplyDeleteyou look so cute in this dress! and you're right- thunderstorm cuddles seriously rock.
ReplyDeleteYou would love it here in WI, we get thunderstorms all the time! Especially during the spring and summer. Summer thunderstorms are the best!
ReplyDeleteAlso, love that dress!
I love thunderstorms too. I think it might be a Texas thing. haha. Since I've moved to Portland, OR though, it rains lots but no thunder.
ReplyDeleteCute outfit! I'm still in search of some rain boots, there's just too many choices! :)
I just love your outfit, you look really adorable wearing your red Wellingtons.
