Dreaming of Pizza…

…And cheese and milk and milky cereal and fried chicken and cheeseburgers and cake. Heck, I’d even take a big fat salad or a plate full of vegetables.  It would be 100x better than my diet as of late, which has included more rice, toast, applesauce, and bananas than I ever thought I’d eat.  Yep, still fighting off a stomach bug.  (We can talk about stuff like that here, right? We’re cool like that?)  I even went to the doctor the other day, and he just told me this could last a couple weeks (we’re working on the second week right now) and that I’ll probably survive if I stop eating cereal for every meal.

Anyway, I’ve been feeling sorry for myself and mourning the fact that everything delicious upsets my stomach terribly, so I thought I would further the torture by posting tantalizing photos from dinner at Home Slice the other night.  Neither Rachel or I had ever been there, so while we were hitting up South Congress for a mini portrait session, we slipped in to grab some pizza, and ohmygosh was it the best decision of my life.  Seriously, Austinites, if you haven’t tried Home Slice, GO IMMEDIATELY.  This pizza rivals the best of the best in NYC.  We got the Margherita, and I just shed a tear while thinking of it.

Now excuse me while I go sip Pedialyte and cry over my applesauce…

  1. That is no bueno!!! I am sooo sorry you are still fighting a cold. I hope you get better soon!!!

As far as the pizza goes... DELISH! If we move to Austin for residency you will have to show me the town! :)

  2. Those pictures ALMOST motivate me to drive all the way downtown to try it... but I think my practical side, the one that hates going downtown, will probably triumph for now. Maybe some day :)

  3. That place looks so vintage and fun! I'm sorry to hear you got hit with the stomach bug....I had it last Christmas and it is absolutely the most miserable thing in the world. I'm glad you are on the upswing though and I hope you'll be eating pizza again soon!

  6. I totally know where you're at! I had a stomach bug that limited me to NOTHING but jello for two straight weeks. I think I did attempt a piece of toast in that time, but then decided that just wasn't happening again. A little trip to see some friends out of town was even cancelled :(.

It took me a while to ease back into real food. When I was finally ready to eat I fixed ibe if my favorite meals complete with lots of MEAT and Potatoes. Let me tell ypu, I was dreaming about all the things I wanted to eat and bake.

All that ro say - keep dreaming and I hope you get to EAT real food very SOON!

  7. If I could get away with eating cereal for every meal... I might do it. And every once in a while, pizza instead. Home Slice sounds delicious and if I'm ever in Austin I will definitely be checking it out.

    Hope you feel better soon!

  9. I am also being ill at the moment resulting in an extremely limited and fickle diet, so I share your pain.

I wish I could have pizza too, it looks so good, now I just need to get my tummy on board :)

  13. Sorry you're not feeling well! That's the worst when you're stuck eating bland food or no food at all.

  15. Stomach bugs are the WORST. They're lingering, horrible little monsters. I know when I'm sick like that just the SMELL of food makes me want to curl up in a ball and die.

I hope you're feeling better soon and eating all the pizza available!

  27. Oh man... the taste of amazing pizza, nothing can beat it! Soooo good. Stomach bugs= crap, but almost a part of my daily life because I have crohn's disease. I just had a major what I call "bowel attack" tonight from a Wendy's chocolate frosty... let's just say... owwww... and then I will stop talking about it because that would be TMI and I'm really bad about TMI allll the time! haha. hope you feel better asap!

  32. Those beehive hair do's are hilarious! You are so funny! I enjoy your humor a lot! It must be hard being so short. I'm tall, though and it wasn't fun to be taller than most boys in grade school!! I wanted to be really short, then. Today tall is "in" and I do see lots of tall girls. Yay, but where they when I needed them? Ha!!

Oh and I'm in that group that can't understand WHY you have to take pics of the food you're going to eat or SO MANY OF YOURSELF? I'm out of the loop on those, for sure!! lol

  33. I was just wondering if you have to buy your clothes in the children's department or what? Your head looks much larger than your body but I do like the clip in hair pieces you use to make it so full and much longer at times!! It's amazing what they can do with hair today & make it look perfectly real!! I do believe you add a lot to yours for the sake of ALL the picture taking and also being a little on the vain side, and even you admit to that.

I hope you'll stop touching up all your photo's though! You're too young to worry about doing that, anyway!! Nobody has wrinkles at 25 yrs old!! You won't start to get those until you're a lot older and today's world has taught women to THINK they are all wrinkled just to sell make up and to try to get them to take collagen injections way way too early in age or even Rejuvination injections!! You don't have to strive to look like Joan Rivers when you're in your 80's!!lol Well anyway, I do enjoy looking at all the pics I know you use to touch up under your eyes and such and I know you look JUST FINE without bothering!!

You are so funny and make me laugh a lot! So sorry you have PMS, though. I totally understand that!! Oh boy do I ever!! Just stay away from me on those days!! I think my entire family & hubby's family knows that about me by now, though! We're working on 3 yrs together and they ALL know hubby either finds somewhere else to be during PMS days or he knows to tip-toe around and leave me the hell alone!! lol

Take care and your blog is a blast sometimes and to me, really boring about all the fashion things. I don't care about that at all but AM into Interior Decorating big time!! Just give me some ratty jeans and some t-shirts and I'm fine and ready to work on my next project!! I love, love, love painting and renovating!! LOVE it SOOO much and FINALLY am getting paid good money to do it, too!! :))

Good luck in everything you do and forget about how you look-girl!! You need to be writing that book I KNOW you have in you, too!! We will ALL buy it-too~!! :))
