There are only a few days left before Matthew officially starts his second semester of law school and until I must again adjust to the loneliness and neglect brand new schedule, and so he and I have been soaking up his last few days of freedom. I took him to a new restaurant called Another Broken Egg Cafe near UT downtown, and we beyond enjoyed ourselves. One might say we in fact gorged ourselves, and have found a new favorite spot.
The menu is really unique and everything we tried was fabulous. Might I recommend the Bacado Omelette? Stuffed with crispy bacon and avocado and topped with melty Monterey Jack Cheese and fresh salsa? I should also mention the perfectly crisp and seasoned to high-heaven potatoes. They will likely haunt my dreams.
This is not a sponsored post, by the way. Just sayin’. If you’re in town, you should go.

PS – Hey Austinites! Another Broken Egg is better than Kerbey Lane. Gasp! That’s right. I just said that.

I completely get it about the spouse being in school.
ReplyDeleteMy hubs is working on his Master's online and while I'm in school as well, I am generally able to get mine done in the daytime hours. He, on the other hand, has to accomplish his in the evening after work.
Leaves little time for much more than the occasional "grunt response" as to whether or not he wants cheese on his burger or a Coke Zero with his meal.
It'll be worth it though.
Good luck with the upcoming sem!
Whew what a yummy breakfast. Sadly I'm not in Austin so I cant try it. :/
ReplyDeleteI just drooled all over myself the second you said "bacon" and "avocado." Gimme gimme gimme!!
ReplyDeletei want. and i have a hat like yours. but i like the way you wear yours. so will now adjust mine accordingly. thanks for that.

it's bedtime in Sweden and after seeing these pictures I'm officially hungry for breakfast! One of my favorite things about America is our obsession with yummy breakfast foods. I was just home on holiday and made sure to get a hearty omlette from my favorite local place. Europe needs to jump on the bandwagon!
ReplyDeleteOhh! I'll be in Austin for the Texas Style Council Blogger Conference, are you going? I'll have to check this place out when I go :)

ReplyDeleteI haven't been to Austin since we did the the state capital field trip thing over a decade ago...But now I keep hearing cool things about it though and it's so tempting.
