Let’s face it. One of the perks of being a blogger is getting to try out awesome products so I can report back to you all about them! Today I’d like to tell you a bit about a super sweet hairdryer from the wonderful people over at Missiko. It’s like maybe they saw my pictures and knew my hair needed some serious help… and they’d be right. I’ve been using the same cheap Revlon hair dryer for probably about 5 years now, and sometimes it sparks inside and smells like it might actually burst into flames. Fire hazard, anyone? No to mention it doesn’t dry my hair very well. Which I didn’t know then, but I know now.
After receiving my Hana dryer in the mail, I did a little experiment. I set a stop watch on my phone and timed both the drying and the flat ironing afterwards, which is how I usually style my hair, and with my new Hana dryer, it took 7.5 minutes to dry and 17 to flat iron, to total 24.5 minutes. (and I have A LOT of hair.)
A few days later, I dried my hair with the old Revlon and then flat ironed it, and the drying took a whopping 13 minutes, flat ironing 20 minutes—to total 33 minutes. So basically, the Hana dryer just shaved 8 1/2 minutes off my styling routine. For someone who is ALWAYS running late (as we discussed), this is sort of life altering.
What I found interesting was that it not only shaved time off the drying, but also off the flat ironing. It’s hard to explain, but I was sort of in awe of the incredibly what I’d call “soft” but powerful airstream coming out of that puppy. It doesn’t even get as scalding hot as my old dryer, but it dries the hair more quickly and the end result is so much softer and less frizzy than how my hair would look after using the ol’ Revlon. I was pretty dang impressed, you guys.
Ok, and ONE LAST THING. Missiko doesn’t just send you the hairdryer when you purchase. You get this huge box of all kinds of amazing goodies. I was literally shocked, and even emailed them to ask if it was a promotional deal or if everyone gets such an amazing VIP package. Sure enough, everyone who orders this dryer gets the same box, stuffed with Paul Mitchell shampoo and conditioner, Hana shine serum, a straightening comb, an eyelash curler, two hand sanitizers, bath petals, a handful of nail files, and a freakin’ teddy bear, y’all. Talk about bang for your buck!
So check out their hair dryers (I have this one) or professional hair straighteners if you’d like, and know that they definitely come with a shining recommendation from your ol’ pal Jenni. :)

I feel so very privileged that I got to see this box of goodies in person, and I can confirm how awesome it was!
ReplyDeleteWow!! That's amazing! Not to mention how super cute its packaged with those goodies alone make me want to get it!
ReplyDeleteman, this company is good.
ReplyDeleteflowers, teddy bears, (maybe one day they'll include chocolates)...

Your hair is so beaaaaaaaaaaauuuuuuuuuutttttiiiiiiiiifffffffuuuuulllllllllllllllll...
ReplyDeleteThere's nothing that feels quite as spiffy as a new hair tool.
Thanks for the info. I'm in search of a new dryer - but I also want one that's not as harsh on my hair. So I'll add this to the research list. :)
ReplyDeleteWhat an amazing deal!!

ReplyDeletei need one of these HANA blow dryers like it's going out of style. my hair is so dry...all the time. i would give my first born for one of these babies.
ReplyDeleteand i'm glad you did the timed thing. that's always good to know. :)
I've been using the same hair dryer for several years now and really need a new one. It smells like fire and makes my hair frizzy. :(
ReplyDeleteGorgeous hair as always :) Glad this cut down your hair prep time!
ReplyDeleteHow cow!! That's so cool they include all those extra goodies. ..I saw the price which, if I could get it, would make me feel a little better spending that amount.
ReplyDelete(back in the day, I totally wouldn't mind spending that) shoot, my flat iron alone is the cost of this hairdryer. Soooo glad you got it for free.

I invested in a quality hair dryer a while back and like you said, it was life altering!
ReplyDeleteMy first thought is... how on earth do you get sample hair dryers sent to you in the mail?? Maybe my blog needs to be a little more popular. Lol. ;P Hopefully someday I'll be in your same shoes!!
ReplyDeleteGreat review! I love my Hana as well.

ReplyDeletelucky!! i would love to do a review like this!!
ReplyDeleteWow! What an amazing deal! I'll definitely have to check it out! You have such gorgeous hair!

Hair looks fab! I just got a Chi blowdryer for Christmas and it works wonders as well. I don't know how I lived 27 years without one. I too previously used an old Revlon one. Totally jealous you got this for free!! Butttttttttt I am getting a Hana flat iron in the mail tomorrow from them. I'm so excited to see my box of goodies.
ReplyDeleteI JUST got my hair dryer in the mail yesterday!!! I cannot wait to try it out! I have a feeling our posts will be verrrryyy similar. ;)
ReplyDeleteLove this I have a t3 and it seriously changed my drying/ getting ready time. Pro dryers may be pricey, but to me it is worth the money!
ReplyDeleteI've seen a couple of reviews on this blow dryer and the straightener and everyone has loved it and shown beautiful results! Glad you were able to save some time styling! Wonder how you can get on the list to review products such as these?
ReplyDeleteYour hair looks so pretty! I've got very thick hair, so maybe I am missing out!

Your hair always looks awesome!
ReplyDeleteSay what! That's awesome that everyone gets the package that you got when they order a new hair dryer/anything else from them! I've been looking for a new one for a while (straightener that is), and may have to try out one of theirs!
ReplyDeleteDaaaaaaaaaaaammmmmmmmmmmmmnnnnnnnnn they hooked you UP! :) What an awesome package!
ReplyDeleteAnd for the record, you could not wash your hair for a week, never blow-dry it and you'd still be gorgeous. For reals.
xo
Just lovely, girlie! We have similar hair (lots of thick hair!) so I think this would be perfect for me, too :)
ReplyDeleteWow that blow dryer costs a lot. I just bought a CHI blow dryer from ebay. Heard it worked really well. My hair is so long and thick that it takes a super long time to blow dry it.
ReplyDeleteAHHHMaze!
ReplyDeletemy hair takes no less than 30 minutes to blow dry (serious! i have a LOT of hair!) plus straightening takes almost an hour! so finding out about a blow dryer that works faster AND helps with straightening? ill say it again, AHHHmaze!
I have a Revlon hair dryer myself, and it has sparked TWICE these past few days! Probably because some of the wires are showing through the cord...But a little scary.
ReplyDeleteThat seems like an awesome dryer though! A little too pricey for me though. I think I'm sticking to Revlon! Well, maybe not the one that sparks, but I will get a new one!
yo soy jealous.
ReplyDeleteI was going to buy a Rusk dryer but now, after reading this post, I'm seriously considering a HANA! (I'll have to do a little research on reviews but all in all, it sounds like a great dryer at a great deal!) Thanks for posting this - I love product reviews! :)

I hope your old hair dryer was the cute pink Revlon. Because that's the one I have, and I couldn't stop laughing when you said it sparks and smells like it's going to start on fire. Sometimes after I finish drying my hair, I put it in the middle of my vanity, far away from all other objects, just in case it does decide that today is the day it's going to explode.
ReplyDeleteI think I may have to try out that hair dryer!
Ooooh nice! Just stumbled across your blog and I love it! BTW you have gorgeous hair!

We were also able to review this hair dryer from Missiko...super sweet company and definitely an awesome product. All of the extra goodies they tossed in were just the icing on the cake. (mmmm, cake...) ;)

Umm... AWESOME!!! As I'm now growing my hair long again, I find it takes longer and longer to dry it all. My hair is big and frizzy like yours, although yours might be a little thicker than mine. I might have to make a birthday wish for one of these babies.
ReplyDeleteOkay, well now I know why your hair always looks amazing...you spend 25-30 minutes doing it! I don't know if I even have the patience for that. I spend maybe 5-10 minutes (and I have a ton of thick hair, too) drying and straightening. Granted, my hair is usually frizzy (probably b/c it's not TOTALLY dry) and either flat and lifeless or wavy...in a not stylish way. So, I'd say your way wins! But I still doubt I'll ever spend that much time on my hair. I like sleep too much to get up early enough! :)
ReplyDeleteShut your mouth!! I have been looking for a new hair dryer that would save me time. This may just be the one! Your hair looks so shiny too!
ReplyDeleteI just received one of their straighteners and was so excited by all the goodies in the box. Can't wait to try it out....now I guess I need to wash my hair :).
ReplyDeleteHi! I'm a fairly new reader so if this is somewhere in the archives and I've missed it my apologies! I'm just wondering about your hair, it's fabulous! How do you style it (and do you get so much body from your cut? Thanks a bunch :)
ReplyDeleteIt does! Thank you so much, I'm part of the wavy/curly/frizzy club myself :) might check out a Chi I've heard good things about it. Thanks again!
ReplyDeleteI love the last shot of you...your hair has so much body you lucky girl!
