Well, I promised a little surprise today, so now I will deliver! But first, a little background:
Often I wish that, 5 years ago, I knew what I know now. I wish I knew that I would pick up a fancy camera one day and fall in love with the way it felt in my hands… and that lovely “cli-click” of the shutter as it freezes a moment in time.
I wouldn’t have wasted my time with a Communication degree, that’s for sure.
But oh well. It is what it is, and everything happens for a reason, I suppose.
Anyway. It’s no secret that I love pictures. I would love to have a little photography business on the side one day soon, and I’ve been brainstorming a name for that business for some months now. I’ve also been thinking about opening up an Etsy shop to sell some of my better photos.
And guess what? I did it. Came up with a name for my future biz AND opened up an Etsy shop!! And you guys are the first to hear about it!
So without further ado, I give you…
Etsy shop HERE.
Below are a few of the photos I sell in my shop, along with a few sets of photos I assembled and am selling for quite cheap (frames not included)! I tried to keep everything pretty inexpensive, actually—because I know I’m really no pro yet and still have a lot to learn. BUT, I had many of my photos printed for myself, and they really do look fabulous matted and framed! Here are a few samples (click bolded links to go to item in shop):
{Ferris Wheel on the Tigre River}
![]()
{The Discerning Botanist set of 6}
{Tigre River Boating set of 3}
Please explore the shop to see the rest! And if ya see anything you fancy, use the coupon code “freeship” before Friday to receive free shipping on your order inside the United States...
But no pressure or anything. :)
Happy Tuesday!

ReplyDeleteIsn't it a shame that we have to choose our career paths at such a young age? Perhaps the norm after HS should be to travel for a few years, THEN go to college... xo

Such amazing news!! Congratulations! I agree with you about wishing I knew 5 years ago what I know now. We could have made different steps to better prepare us for where we see ourselves going now. However, like you said, everything happens for a reason. Maybe we wouldn't have ended up where we are now if we knew it 5 years ago.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, gorgeous little photos you have! I have no doubt that you'll be a hit :)
Congratulations on your Etsy shop! What beautiful photos! You are more talented that you give yourself credit for! Keep it up, woman!

I'm in my second year of business, and its been nothing short of amazing. Difficult and challenging and fabulous all rolled up into one. If you ever need advice, feel free to contact me. And in the meantime, I will be cheering you on from the sidelines!!! (p.s. - my bachelors in political science was pretty much useless as well, although I did love my columbia experience!!)

ReplyDeleteI can so relate! I've been not-so-patiently awaiting the day I can buy my first digital SLR. I majored in journalism, and have been in love with photography, especially black/white darkroom photos, ever since. I hope to start an Etsy shop and/or business someday soon too. In the meantime, I'm going to browse your shop. You really have an eye for detail. Beautiful!
