We stayed in a bed and breakfast called Paradise Loft, and it was exactly that: paradise. This particular B&B was perfectly situated in the middle of Main Street (the major tourist attraction of the town) and just above one of the street’s many eclectic little shops. Guests at Paradise Loft enjoy their own private entrance off the street, where you open a heavy wooden door to reveal an old and narrow wood and rock staircase. At the top of those stairs is the entrance to the suite, which literally took my breath away when I walked through that door for the first time.
The whole experience was just a delightful little indulgence for my design eye, for my love of the old and eclectic, and of course, for the romantic in me.
But I’ll let the pictures do the rest of the talking. I hope you enjoy them, and if you EVER get a chance to go to Fredericksburg, I highly recommend it! Not only is the shopping and touristy stuff fabulous, but there is also super fun hiking at Enchanted Rock nearby - and if you dare, spelunking in some pretty badass old caves. I’ve done it, and I lived to tell the tale (Matthew and I are going to go back and do it together when the weather gets warmer)!
These photos will be sequential for the most part, and I’ll only butt in to explain what it is you’re seeing every now and then. :)
Paradise Loft…
Out on the balcony…
Dining…
Around town…
Antique shopping…
And I guess that’s it for now, folks. Sorry for picture overload! I’m ready to go back. Like, tomorrow. Day trip to Fredericksburg, anyone? Just remember: I have a camera. And a blog. No one is safe.
PS – Only two more days left to enter my giveaway! All items in the giveaway were chosen during our little trip to Fredericksburg, and I can’t wait to mail them off to one of YOU! <3

Oh this looks like it was a GREAT trip!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness...it all looks sooo amazing!! Like a place that would only be in the movies.
ReplyDeleteWe've been there many times as I have family that lives in Kerrville, not that far from where you were & we LOVE shopping and just rambling around in Fredricksburg!! I want that beautiful mirror on that wall that's cream color and huge & looks like an antique & I think they had that there this summer in July when we were there during the HOTTEST DAYS we had on record! Bad timing to go-on a Sat and packed with people in the stores and some do NOT have a/c in them and some just have fans but it's one of the neatest little places to shop & I saw everything you're giving away but the framed pic & the hand sanitizer. I bought that same gold pen and even though it's small I love it & carry it in my purse! I love the necklace & saw so many pretty ones there that are all hand made! You did a great job of picking gifts to give! Even have seen where you stayed many times but never have stayed there-always stay with family in Kerrville but all the women ALWAYS have to shop there and then we go to Austin to shop down around 5th&6th street to shop and get great margarita's!!
ReplyDeleteGreat post & I like the pics and know exactly where some of those places are! Isn't it the neatest small town? I'm not into rock climbing though but the caverns are FABULOUS to visit! A must do thing when you go back!
:)

Oh. My. Gosh. I have so many things that I want to say about your pictures from Fredericksburg! My husband and I visited Gruene, TX last year (and my tiny obsession with German settled Texas towns might be a combo of me being very German and being born in TX but.... ) I really really want to visit Fredericksburg after seeing all of your lovely photos and that B&B!
ReplyDeleteAmazing! The food looks amazing, the town... everything. Looks like a great trip.
p.s. I freakin love Kinder eggs and I have never seen them anywhere in the U.S. before. I totally thought they were illegal here because of the tiny toys inside... that's the icing on the cake! I must go there. :)
i wished i lived out in tx to go there! I fell in LOVE with the place just from your pics! thanks for the share!
ReplyDeletein answer to your question: YES! we are moving to san antonio. (technically, i know for sure that I will be moving...and we will find out for sure in 3 weeks if Nick will be coming too...but i've got a pretty good feeling about it.) either way, texas is in our very near future. we'll probably move down as soon as the end of April!
ReplyDeletekeep me posted...either way, a blate is in our future (:

ReplyDeletehappy weekend
These photos were just great! we've talked about Cameras before.. I know you have the Canon Rebel...but I can't get over how close up you got with some of the shots you took!! So that leads me to my next question...what Lens did you use? Did you switch between two lens for these pictures?
ReplyDeleteA really good girlfriend of mine got engaged and they just got the Nikon D3000 and she asked me to just take pics of everyone all night..so I did...but even with her telephoto lens...I wasn't able to get THAT close to her ring and such....what gives? so I ask you! :) LOL holla girl!
I loved these pictures. You guys are too cute and that place SOUNDS too cute to boot! LOL!! OK, so my favorite was that little wall plaque thingy that said:
ReplyDelete"One shoe can change your life."
